Personal safety equipment is the last line of defense for worker safety in the workplace. It is usually used as a separation of hazardous materials for the worker in the working environment. It can protect the life and safety of workers when the hazard occurs. The safety helmet is the earliest and most widely used personal protective equipment. At present, the traditional helmets worn by laborers have many shortcomings in addition to being uncomfortable, such as having insufficient auxiliary tools (such as lighting, communication), being inconvenient, and so forth, affecting the willingness by workers working in limited space doing special tasks.
This case compiles the current status of industrial safety helmets and the performance of external equipment, and integrates new technologies such as noise reduction, harmful gas sensing, lighting, personnel activity monitoring and NB-IoT wireless transmission to complete the smart industry prototype. Design, production, and functional testing are done according to the safety requirements of special workers to provide personal safety protection tools that are more convenient and safer for workers.
